We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Project Engineer.
Reporting to Director of Engineering, the Project Engineer will be responsible for capital projects as assigned, from conceptual design through to successful commissioning. In addition to capital projects, this position will use their Project Management Certification for overall engineering project coordination and communication to other department stakeholders. This position requires minimum of a BSc in Engineering and Professional Engineer designation.
Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative, displays problem solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Successful candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills and sense of urgency coupled with proven ability to manage staff and build teams.
Responsibilities:
Safety of crew, facilities and equipment; Adherence by employees and contractors to Organigram’s policies, procedures, GMP and safety; Meeting with stakeholders to conceptualize project, define scope, budget, and schedule; Identifying, managing and minimalizing project risk W.R.T. goals, budget, and schedule; Resource planning and ordering equipment and materials; Working and negotiating contracts with partners and vendors; Project status communication, commissioning and handover to stakeholders; Other duties as may be required. Qualifications:
Recognized Engineering degree in the province of New Brunswick; 5 to 10 years’ experience within an engineering field as a Professional Engineer; Project Management Certification; Experience and design knowledge for air handling equipment and chiller plants; Experience and knowledge with designing and maintaining plant wide SCADA systems; Knowledge of processing and packaging equipment and automated controls; Ability to identify and define goals, priorities, metrics, and levels of success; Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines while working in a cooperative team environment; Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team; Must be able to work in adverse conditions such as heights, heat, and high intensity lighting; Bilingual (English and French) would be considered an asset.
