Welcome to Lakergrow Dispensary

Innovation

Cannabis Innovators Panel

With the establishment of one of the first consumer panels in the sector, Lakergrow Dispensary is taking the lead in consumer-driven innovation in a sector that is developing quickly and is very competitive. The Cannabis Innovators Panel, which will be established in 2021, will strive to assemble up to 2,500 cannabis users from across Canada and invite them to participate in the development of the goods and brands that will be made available to the public. By this programme, deep analytics will be made possible and scaled for more reliable data from product innovation to customer insights and idea testing.

Strategic Rationale for the Deal

Lakergrow Dispensary’s finance sheet is anticipated to be strengthened by BAT’s investment in the company and the PDC Agreement, which will also speed up product development and Lakergrow Dispensary’s potential to access the U.S. and other foreign markets. In our opinion, product development in the cannabis sector is still in its infancy. We think that in order to create a sustainable competitive edge in the cannabis market, product innovation supported by fundamental core R&D is essential.

Biosynthesis of the cannabinoids

What is Biosynthesis?

Trichomes have a similar route for producing cannabinoids. The glandular trichomes, or “marijuana bud” of female flowers are where cannabinoids are biosynthesized; cannabinoid levels are often relatively low in male flowers with little trichomes. Current production techniques, which rely on planting, cultivating and harvesting huge amounts of cannabis plants, followed by the extraction and purification of its active ingredients often result in the waste of 95% of the plant. The method frequently results in a complicated chemical combination with a variable and irregular makeup.

Great opportunity

Large-scale production of cannabinoids for a fraction of the price of conventional cultivation is possible through biosynthesis. Hyasynth Biologicals Inc. a biotechnology business with headquarters in Montreal and a pioneer in the study of cannabinoids and their production has received funding from Lakergrow Dispensary. With the use of innovative yeast strains and patent-pending enzymes, Hyasynth has created a method for producing cannabinoids organically without cultivating the cannabis plant.
